ASC.END 2013

ASC.END PROJECT 2013:

A simple Concept, an Idea, a Thought, can be an ascending process.
The moment Been and I realised this was in Sinsa-Dong in a small coffee shop in Seoul, South Korea winter 2011.
A concept that consisted of representing a certain fashion style through the creation of a store based on Australian designers. We wanted to create a style that we could show people, a style that Korea had never seen before. Been had previously been to Melbourne a number of times and that is how we initially met. Attracted to the culture, fashion and style that Melbourne showed, he came back to enjoy the features that Korea couldn't give him.
Australian brands such as Vanishing Elephant, FfiXXed, PAM and others caught Been's eye and as we sat in the coffee shop in Sinsa-Dong Been told me about his idea that if we could bring brands like these to Korea, we would be able to show people something new and something exciting.
At first this was just an idea, but through the first contact with 'FfiXXed' that idea suddenly became reachable. We presented our idea to Kain and Fiona the designers behind the Melbourne founded brand 'FfiXXed' and appreciation towards our project was established, we now had one brand available.
Been came back to melbourne in October 2012 so that we could start the next step towards our project, the opening of the shop. In the 3 weeks that Been was down, we managed to get into contact with PAM, Vanishing Elephant, SANDERS hand made footwear and someone else that we had never planned to come into contact with.
That someone was Kara Liu, a student that had just graduated from RMIT fashion design. As Been and myself investigated the potential of Melbourne fashion being in Korea, we visited the RMIT fashion design Exhibition in the Bourke st GPO. Kara's collection stood out dramatically and after making contact with her, our idea seemed to stand out in her eyes also. Through a number of meetings with Kara as well as he business partner Jackson, we established a mutually beneficial relationship and friendship with her and Jackson, with an outcome that would have her designs and templates manufactured through us as well as sold in our store once it opens.
With a number of brands keen to work with us we were almost ready for our hopes and dreams to be put together.
This is as far as i can tell you about our store, Advertising / Sponsors / Location / Website / Store interior and more have already been accounted for through our business plan, the only thing missing is the funding to make all of this happen.
If we can just find someone to support our project, invest in our concept, the success of our store will almost certainly be beneficial to that someone.
At 18 years old, i never thought that i would get this far, but with the potential that i believe Been and myself have together, a concept that we want to show people will certainly open a number of doors for our future as well as someone that would like to be a part of it.
